Deion Patterson, 24, has been accused of opening fire inside an Atalanta medical facility with murder and four counts of aggravated assault, according to NBC News.

Patterson is expected to make his first court appearance later today on May 4th 2023. He allegedly shot five women and police chased him in an eight-hour-long manhunt.

This shooting in Atlanta is the latest mass shooting in America. Five people were killed in a separate shooting in Louisville Bank on April 10.

His mother, Minyone Patterson told investigators that her son checked in on Wednesday, May 3rd, because he was dissatisfied with his treatment from the Department of Veterans Affairs, according to CNN.

US Senator Raphael Warnock said to MSNBC, “We have had a mass shooting in this country virtually every day this year and I’m afraid we’re becoming numb to it. I’m afraid that we are behaving as if this is normal. This is not normal, to live in a country where no one is safe, no matter where they are.”

The four women killed are Lisa Glynn, Georgette Whitlow, Jazzmin Daniel, and Alesha Hollinger.
