The Hershey Girls Lacrosse team is absolutely flying. The Trojans took down Red Land (5-3) on Tuesday by a whopping 16-5 score line.
Similar to last Thursday’s win against Trinity, Hanna Russell and Abby Hand led the way with seven and four goals respectively. Both Russell and Avery Weaber assisted on two goals, and Weaver tacked on two goals to boot. Meghan McDonald, Fiona Boyle, and Hailey Russell added one goal apiece.
The Trojans were even able to give starting goalie Olivia Fox a breather in the second half, as freshman Tessa Stager slotted in between the sticks for the second period.
With the win, Hershey jumped Lampeter-Strasburg to claim the number one spot in District 3 AA. The Trojans remain undefeated with a 9-0 record, and have already bested top competition such as State College and Cumberland Valley.
Hershey looks like a real threat to claim the District 3 crown, as the team was reclassified into the 2A class instead of the tougher 3A.
The team takes the long road trip to Gettysburg on Thursday, looking to protect one of the most impressive records in the region.
