Don’t Worry Darling released in theaters September 2022, starring Harry Styles, Florence Pugh, Chris Pine, Gemma Chan, Shia LaBeouf, Sydney Chandler, and Nick Kroll. Directed by Olivia Wilde.

Don’t Worry Darling is a utopian thriller. The film focused on an experimental community based in the 1950s.  The run time of this movie is two hours and three minutes. 

This film had Styles nominated for the Drama Movie Star of 2022.

Styles is a well known British singer and songwriter. He recently has been able to add actor to his resume as well. Styles has 49.7 million followers on instagram, a well known social media platform. He has grown his fan base by millions all throughout the world. 

Styles auditioned for British show, The X Factor in 2010. He ended up becoming part of a group called One Direction which launched his career. He was one of two of the head singers within this band. 

His acting career started in 2012 when he was featured on a popular show at the time, ICarly.  2017 was the year he officially started to take acting more seriously.  

Don’t Worry Darling is the first film in which Styles proved how incredible of an actor he can be. Fans went crazy over this film. Some hated how his character portrayed him, and did not enjoy seeing him in such a new and different way. Others thoroughly enjoyed it and were beyond thrilled seeing Harry expand his career.

In the movie, Alice Chambers (played by Florence Pugh) plays the role of being the “perfect wife”. She loves the life her husband, Jack (played by Harry Styles) has built for her. However, she slowly becomes very curious about what her husband does for work. 

Husbands leave their wives during the day to work on a top secret project that no one is allowed to know about. The wives play a very traditional role, maintaining a specific daily routine where they cook and clean. They seem to have no problem with living the same day on repeat, finding it to be the perfect life. Alice however, becomes curious about the secret project only husbands can know about. 

With curiosity getting the best of her, Alice becomes determined to figure out what no wife has ever had such desire to know before. 

This movie is full of twists and turns that leave the audience in utter shock. The plot twist that Don’t Worry Darling ends with will have you questioning the possibilities of humanity and others moralities after viewing.  

Despite the mixed reviews online, Don’t Worry Darling is a must watch. The film is no longer being shown in theaters;however, you can watch it on several movie subscription sites such as Hulu, Amazon Prime, and HBO Max. 

I highly recommend viewing this movie if you’re interested in seeing why NFPA members (Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the organization of journalists and photographers who report on the American entertainment industry) voted Harry Styles as The Drama Movie Star of 2022.
