The Broadcaster asks: Mask or not to mask?
With the lifting of the mask mandate at Hershey High School, the Broadcaster asked staff and students why or why not they chose to mask.
This is the first time in nearly two years that HHS students are able, if they choose, to not wear a mask at school.
Earlier in December 2021, the state Supreme Court of PA ruled to end the statewide mask mandate, letting individual school districts decide whether to require them or not. The DTSD school board has voted to decide to not require, but strongly encourage masks in the district schools.
Though masks are not required currently, if legal requirements change or if transmission rates exceed 3.5%, DTSD could return to the mask-required learning environment.
Your donation will support the student journalists of Hershey High School. Your contribution will allow us to purchase a new mirrorless digital camera and telephoto lens.
The camera we are working toward is the Sony a7 II Mirrorless Camera. It retails for about $1000 at B&H Photo and Video and comes with a kit lens, a 28-70mm. The lens is a big telephoto suitable for event and sports coverage, Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 DG DN OS Sports Lens (Sony E). This lens retails for about $1500 at B&H Photo and Video.
