Hershey High School Girls Soccer Defeats Palmyra 2-0
The Hershey High School (HHS) Girls Soccer team defeated Palmyra 2-0 at home on Tuesday, October 5th, 2021.
The first half was evenly fought by both teams, ending at 0-0.
Izzy Sontheimer scored a goal in the beginning of the second half quickly putting the Trojans up 1-0.
The game was mostly controlled througH the middle of the field by Hershey’s midfield.
Captain and senior midfielder Allie Hahn said, “That was probably one of the best games of the season.”
Hershey maintained possession throughout the second half. With 15 minutes left, Damaria Wedderburn scored off of a cross pass tipped by the goalie into the back of the net.
With the clock winding down, HHS girls soccer secured their first win of the week defeating Palmyra 2-0.
“I am so proud of everyone for their hard work and determination not only in this game, but all season as well,” said Hahn.
Hershey’s next game is on Wednesday, October 6th, 2021, at Mifflin County High School.
