Cocoa Packs is a local organization dedicated to providing families with food supplies and ensuring that children have access to nutritional foods. Founded in 2015 by Christine Drexler, Cocoa Packs operates primarily at the Hershey Middle School, known as its “distribution center” and has a total of 10 distribution sites in Derry Township. Volunteers can help out at the Hershey Middle School, the warehouse location on Chocolate Ave., or at the Spring Creek Church of the Brethren.

At Hershey High School, another organization aimed at alleviating food insecurity arose during the 2020-21 school year in response to the pandemic. The CARE Club (Covid Action Relief & Establishment) was founded by a group of current seniors. The club has encouraged its members to volunteer with Cocoa Packs at the Spring Creek Church of the Brethren.

The Spring Creek Church of the Brethren is a location where anyone can drive by and pick up free food on Mondays and Wednesdays. On April 12, 2021, several Hershey students helped to distribution.
