Many people go on vacation with the idea to relax and to have a break, but not many actually know how to do it. Here are some tips on how to wind down on vacation and enjoy your time.

  • While you are at the beach, take time to take a break and enjoy the peace of being at the beach. Grab a book, find the perfect spot, and get some sun. MyFitnessPal suggests being flexible, “Nothing ever goes according to plan.   • Balance your time between resting and working out. Take some time to go on a walk along the shore, instead of resting, to hear the waves and smell the ocean breeze. (Broadcaster/ Elaina Joyner)

  • The sound of ocean waves can be truly relaxing to those who take the time to utilize it. Take a nap on the beach and fall asleep to the sound of the waves to relax your mind. (Broadcaster/ Elaina Joyner)

  • The beach is full of hidden treasure in the sand and the ocean. Take a walk along the shore and stick your feet in the sand to find some of the beaches hidden treasures. Seashells, shark teeth, and sand dollars can be commonly found in Edisto Island. (Broadcaster/ Elaina Joyner)

  • Take some time out of your day to treat yourself by buying clothes and anything you might want. The Edisto Surf Shop is full of small gifts, shoes, clothes, and jewelry.
