13 Ways To Celebrate Galentine’s Day

Forget date night with your significant other this year. Call up your gals, stock up on the essentials, and party the day away!

For anyone familiar with Parks and Rec, Galentine’s Day, celebrated February 13th is the day dedicated solely to celebrating girlfriends because there is nothing better than good old fashion friendship. So this Galentine’s Day clear your calendars, give the boys the day off, and grab your besties. I am bringing you the ultimate list of Galentine’s Day musts.

 

1. Have a rom com marathon

Cuddle up with your girls for a few, or several classic chick flicks. Anything from The Notebook to A Walk to Remember will be a huge hit.

 

2. Stick to take out

Don’t spend hours cooking or worrying about food, just call up your go to eatery. Bonus points if they deliver, so you and your gals won’t have to sacrifice time on mini road trip. Pizza or chinese are both classics that you can’t go wrong with.

3. Indulge on high end candy

As Forrest Gump says, life’s a box of chocolates. So why not eat them? Ladies, there is no shame in sharing a box of See’s Candies with your besties. Enjoy!

 

4. Make a batch of cake pops

The only better than eating sweets is making them, and you don’t have to put too much effort in it. Use a cake mix out of a box, your favorite icing, and fun sprinkles Check out this fun recipe from Bakerella for a batch of delish cake pops to share with your friends.

 

5. Purge your man grievances

Take this valuable time to let everything out. No one listens better than your besties, and they’re here for you today. Take rounds sharing your drama over breakfast or unleash a screaming match. Just let it out, and remember there is no judgement.

 

6. Boost your self esteem with cute cards

7. Have a mini fashion show

You don’t need a special event or an audience to celebrate you and your besties. Put on some jams and show off your best outfits from old prom dresses to summer looks.

 

8. Play a game

While you may have sworn off games as kid, there are endless games for you and your girls. You could play Never Have I ever to get the conversation going and bring out old memories. Trick your friends with a classic Two Truths and a Lie. For something a little more adventurous  try Cards Against Humanity. Just beware the explicit content. Have fun, kids.

 

9. Go pet some puppies

Who says cuddling is reserved solely for your significant other? Shelters are filled with abused, abandoned, and neglected animals that could use your hugs and kisses. So pile in the back of your friend’s car with a box of biscuits, and take a mini road trip to your local humane society. Most allow visitors to play with animals in a designated petting area. -XOXO, your furry friend.

 

10. Have a throwback karaoke sesh

Pull out your old ipod nano with your favorite throwbacks from ‘Yonce to JoJo. There’s nothing better than screaming off key to some classics from the past with your gals. Checkout the countless karaoke videos on youtube and On Demand.

11.Mingle over tea and macaroons

Nothing’s more relaxing than a cup of sweet hot tea with your gals. Brew your choice tea with your own add ins: sugar, milk, honey, etc. Stop by your local bakery for a box of delicate treats. Dessert Etc.’s macaroons are the perfect match to your tea.

 

12. Get outdoors

Throw on a light jacket, tie on your sneaks, and get outdoors for some fun in the sun with your girls. Take a walk on the trails in Shank Park. Count the stars from the hill of the Hershey Gardens. Play a round of manhunt right in your neighborhood.

 

13. Take a million and half selfies with your besties

Whatever you do for G- Day, you’ll want to remember it. Snap every moment with your girls, whether it’s a cute pose  or a hilarious candid.
