Hershey High School (HHS) boys soccer defeated Palmyra 3-0 on Monday, September 13th, 2021.

HHS boys started off strong in the first half with a header goal scored by senior captain Owen Schmidt, off of a free kick from Stefan Verbeek. Hershey continued to keep possession mainly in Palmyra’s defensive end till halftime.

Starting the second half senior captain Ben Zimmer scored an unassisted goal giving Hershey momentum continuing into the second half. 

“Palmyra was probably the best team we’ve faced so far this year,” said Zimmer, “and everyone on the team really stepped up and contributed to the win.” 

With seventeen minutes left to play Hershey’s offense strikes again with a goal from Stefan Verbeek, with the assist from Ben Zimmer. 

With the clock winding down, Palmyra had many scoring opportunities applying pressure to Hershey’s defensive line. Senior goalie Justin Rogers made a diving save with just a few minutes left in the game, securing Hershey their first victory of the week.
