National Clean Beauty day is held on the 15th of July this year. The day celebrates and promotes the movement of utilizing ethically sourced and mindfully created cosmetic products.

No official definition of the term “clean beauty” exists, but many experts in the industry, according to Juice Beauty, describe the term to mean “that a beauty product should have considered human and environmental health, using non-toxic ingredients.” Juice Beauty came up with the idea of designating this day to the clean beauty movement so that more awareness is spread regarding it. The company uses organic and plant based ingredients in their skin care products, which are said to be anti-aging and blemish clearing.

The official establishment of the day is quite new, being that 2020 was its first year; however, the idea began many years before when Karen Behnke, the founder of Juice Beauty, discovered potentially harmful substances in both her high end and drugstore products. From then, she vowed never to use an ingredient that could be harmful to humans, animals, and the planet.

There are many other brands who have the same values that National Clean Beauty Day work to express.  Bite Beauty, Tata Harper, Anita Grant, and Derma E are all companies that believe in the movement.
