LG announces new products with virtual influencer

Reah Keem sounds like a normal influencer going through the pandemic. However, she is not a real person.

According to The Verge, she is known as a “virtual influencer” and was introduced by the company LG during its CES keynote. Reah assisted in announcing LG’s new line of CLOi UV-C robots which were created to decrease exposure to germs present in high traffic areas by shining a UV-C light. Keem described how they will help when she begins to travel again although the product is used in a different world from the one she exists in.

Keem’s appearance at a livestream and socially distanced event conveyed how bizarre the pandemic is. Hearing a technologically-made person claim, “I’m going to chill in my studio,” while describing how they will pass time until traveling is safe, is not exactly something you hear on the daily.

It is unknown if the virtual influencer will have much of a future besides the CES event. No further information is known about whether LG created or paid for her services, only that they “introduced” her.

For now, Keem can be found on her Soundcloud page featuring one current song and on her Instagram account with over 6000 followers.
