HHS Theatre Announces Cast for Fall Play “Radium Girls”

HHS Theatre released the cast list for Radium Girls, the Fall play for 2019.

Radium Girls takes place in the 1920s in Orange, New Jersey. The play follows dial painters of the town’s Radium Plant. When workers start to become sick from the radiation, employee Grace Fryer sues the company. The story then follows her struggle against the opposition, Arthur Roeder.

The cast list was released on Friday, September 13th. There is a total of 24 people on the cast, and all who auditioned received roles.

Grace Fryer, the lead female role, will be played by senior Jaelissa Akers. Juniors Katie Copeland and Anna Callahan were cast in the two other prominent roles, Katheryn Schaub and Irene Rudolpy. 

Alex Winnick, a senior, was cast as the lead male role of Arthur Roeder, and senior Christopher Santiago was cast as another prominent male role, Tom Kreider.

Natalie Taylor, a senior cast in the role of Sob Sister, said, “I’m so excited for the show. I think people are really going to enjoy the story.”

The play will have two shows on Friday, November 22, and Saturday, November 23 at 7:00pm in the HHS auditorium. Tickets will be for sale at the door.
