Fall play auditions to be held Tuesday, September 18

Auditions for Hershey High School’s fall play, Thornton Wilder’s Our Town, will be held on Tuesday, September 18 after school, starting at 3:00pm.

The story of  Our Town follows the residents of “Grover’s Corners.” Eighteen speaking parts are available with background and minor parts also being cast.

Three big themes are explored in the three acts of the show. Act one being “Daily Life,” act two consisting of “Love and Marriage,” and act three showing “Death and Eternity.” Our Town is narrated by a stage manager, and follows the Webb and Gibbs families, as their children go through the stages of life.

For the audition, partners—one male, one female—will act out a brief scene from the play.  The female auditionees will recite the lines of the character Emily Webb, daughter of the Webb family. While the male hopefuls will recite the lines of George Gibbs, son of the Gibb’s family.

HHS’ Our Town will open on November 16 and 17 at 7:00pm in the HHS auditorium.
