“Playing in a huge stadium like that made us more excited,” said Junior Cassie Zugay.

Taking their excitement onto the field, Hershey started off the game strong with HHS Junior Lauren Epler scoring a goal five minutes into the first half.

Keeping the momentum going, Hershey kept pushing the ball up the field, but Fleetwood got multiple free kicks and corner kicks scoring on most of them and giving them a 4-1 lead by halftime.

However, the Trojans didn’t back down and kept fighting for opportunities to score with a few free kicks in the second half. Eventually Fleetwood scored two more goals in the second half bringing the overall score of the game to 6-1.

Zugay said, “It was a tough one for us. Win or lose, at least we got the opportunity of playing in the stadium.”

Fleetwood is now ranked 74 in the country and will continue their season in the third round of districts.
