From Macy’s to A.C. Moore, several national retailers are closing dozens of stores across Pennsylvania.

Kmart in Hummelstown and Dressbarn in the Hershey Outlets both closed in 2019.  Kmart closed a number of stores due to bankruptcy.

Local stores closing in 2020 include the three-story Macy’s in the Harrisburg Mall. Macy’s is also closing 30 other locations across the state.

A.C. Moore recently announced that it will be closing all 145 of its locations, including the store in Lower Paxton. Michaels will be taking over 40 of these stores, but it is unclear if the Lower Paxton store will be one of these.

Pier 1 Imports has also announced the closings’ of nearly half of all locations across the U.S. which includes one of its two Harrisburg locations. The Pier 1 Imports along Jonestown Road near Olive Garden will be closing, and it is still undecided whether the store in Lower Paxton will as well.  This pair of local stores is among the 450 closing nationwide.
